About Us

Born from Persian fabrics and shaped by hand, each MEY piece is unique — a fragment of heritage to wear, freely. MEY was created by two cousins who share the same passion for fashion, the same childhood memories, and the same Persian heritage. From an early age, fabrics, colors, and ancestral crafts shaped our world — a world we chose to carry forward together.

Working together, we imagine each silhouette, choose every fabric, and shape the creative vision that guides our pieces. We travel across Iran to meet artisans, discover exceptional textiles, and select fabrics that feel alive — materials that carry the memory of a place, a gesture, a lineage. Each creation is the natural meeting of our two perspectives, blending instinctively into a single vision.

Our name, Mey, is rooted in the heart of Persian poetry. In classical verse, mey — wine — is far more than a drink: it is a symbol of freedom, spiritual awakening, and the courage to express one’s true self. It speaks of breaking boundaries, embracing beauty, and letting the soul move without restraint — values that guide every piece we create.

Mey also carries a quiet, personal echo: we were both born in May, two Taurus sharing the same month and the same instinctive devotion to craft and meaning. A small coincidence, yet one that felt like a gentle sign — a thread linking our shared heritage to our shared beginning.

MEY is our family story — a dialogue between heritage and modernity, carried by two women creating together with sincerity, intuition, and intention. Every piece is the expression of this bond: contemporary, meaningful, and timeless. Our fabrics are carefully sourced from across Iran — from Tehran to Isfahan, and other regions where artisanal knowledge is still passed down hand to hand, generation to generation. Each textile is a living trace, a fragment of memory brought into dialogue with the present.

Handcrafted as one-of-a-kind pieces or in limited editions, MEY creations honor the rhythm of the hand and the truth of the material. By collaborating with artisans and independent workshops, the house contributes to preserving a living textile heritage — one that is conscious, elegant, and deeply committed.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

At MEY, every piece is the result of exceptional artisanal craftsmanship, rooted in Iranian textile traditions that we are committed to preserving, passing on, and bringing to life through a contemporary language. Our fabrics are chosen for the richness of their techniques, the finesse of their execution, and the uniqueness of their expression. Each textile carries the imprint of a place, a gesture, a living memory. Among these time-honored techniques:
- Ghalamkar, the emblematic woodblock printing of Isfahan, where each motif is applied by hand, sometimes dozens of times, to achieve a deep and vibrant composition
- Termeh, the precious handwoven silk-and-wool fabric from Yazd, known for its intricate patterns and rich tones
- Chap-e Sangi, or stone printing, a rare and delicate technique that requires precision and leaves a soft, almost whisper-like impression on the fabric Through these techniques, MEY celebrates the hand, slowness, and the art of making things last. Each fabric is conceived as a work of art — shaped by the artisan, then refined in our studio to become a unique piece.

THE MEY EXPERIENCE

There is an ancient tradition in Persian culture: the fāl-e Hafez. One opens a book of poems by Hafez of Shiraz at random, and the verse that appears is read as an omen — a poetic message sent to the present moment. At MEY, we’ve chosen to keep this tradition alive in our own way. With every order, we include a translated fāl-e Hafez, along with its interpretation. Each fāl is unique, individually selected for you.

It is a small, intimate gesture — a poetic breath woven into your package, extending the invisible thread between the garment and the person receiving it. This is the MEY experience: a garment infused with history, and a message to accompany your present.
